I’ve been feeling unwell for the past two weeks, on and off, catching a cold and coughing. I guess it’s partly due to the low air quality in Jakarta recently. Honestly, it breaks my heart a little since I grew up here and have been working and living in this city for most of my life.
Anyway, today.. I want to share you a little story..
With the degradation of my health last week, I knew I needed some fresh air, quite literary. So, I asked one of my best friend to go with me to the the mountain area (Puncak) for a couple of days, and her sister also joined us. I am so grateful for their company. And so, we went…
I have a little house in the Puncak that I bought a few years ago from my mom’s friend. Tante Nining is one of the kindest ladies I have ever met, and she’s been friends with my mom since junior high school. I always admire her love and kindness. She’s been on my mind as I haven’t seen her for a very long time, and I really wanted to show her the house and how it looks like after I took over.

It was Monday, not the typical day for me to visit the house. We arrived in the afternoon, and Mba Yati, the cleaning lady, was there to help me out with stuff. She has been working for the house since it was built more than twenty years ago. She stayed for a bit and then went to her home.
As I wanted to take a nap in my bedroom, I was surprised to find a huge pile of ants on my bed. It was a lot and kind of scary (lol) so I called Mba Yati to come back to my house and help me. And so she came back and we started to clean up my bed. While we were doing that, I heard someone called out my name from the outside..
Guess what, it was Tante Nining and her family! Oh my, I didn’t expect that. We haven’t had in touch for a very long time. Mba Yati came down in rush to meet her, she broke in tears and they hugged each other for a very long time.. It’s been about six years since the last time they met. What a beautiful reunion..
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I never planned to come on Monday (and certainly I didn’t plan to get sick!), also the ants… if it wasn’t there, Mba Yati wouldn’t came back to the house. Even Tante Nining said she didn’t expect to meet anyone in the house, they just happened got the idea to visit the old house since they were visiting the area.
It was all coincidence… synchronicities I would say.
And yes, I finally got to show her and family how’s the house looks like now!
All of us couldn’t stop wondering how did this all happen? We met at the right time and at the right place. The timing was just right for each of us.
I believe that the timing of the universe is always perfect.
Things happen as it supposed to be. And it’s beautiful.
I feel sometimes, we try so hard to make things happen in our own timeline and terms. This can leave us feeling tired and heavy. Perhaps, it’s good to remember to take a step back and rethink our approach in life. We want to enjoy life and feel good about it. Well, part of it is to take action from the place of alignment and surrender to the everlasting support that is always around us.

So, where in life that you’re trying to force things to happen? How does it feel for you?
As for me… I’m learning to be patient with my own healing, particularly in my physical recovery. I’m feeling much better now, I believe that nature is still the best remedy. An oh, my friends and I had a great time in nature as well!
Today, I am back in Jakarta and slowly getting back into my routine. I am thankful and grateful. 🙏
Stay safe and healthy everyone!
Have a beautiful week ❤️
