Last Saturday (23/9), I hosted a Mindvalley Indonesia tribe meetup in Bogor with my fellow local host and best friend, Maria. It was fun as always, but the most important thing is that our meetups are always inspiring. We have the most meaningful connection and insightful discussions, mostly about personal growth and life. I lost track of our meetups; we have meetups, both virtually and in-person, every month, from Jakarta to Bali and some other cities in between.
“You are who you surround yourself with.”
You have probably heard that the people you choose to associate with can have a significant influence on your character, mindset, behavior, values, and personal growth. In that sense, you want to choose your circle wisely.

As some of you might know, Mindvalley has been the core of my transformation journey since I joined first time in 2020 right in the midst of the pandemic. I have been actively involved in the global community and in 2021 I have been entrusted to grow Mindvalley community in Indonesia. It’s been an amazing journey and I’m just so grateful for this role.
Building a strong local community wasn’t easy at first. I was comfortable interacting with people online from all over the world, but connecting with the local community was a challenge ~ I didn’t know anyone and I had no prior experience in community development. However, by consistently engaging with the group and organizing regular meetups, the community is slowly growing in the most beautiful way.
A space for growth
I can’t tell how much I treasure this community. The community has become the safe space where we don’t just meet to connect, but we also support and help each other. In the background, so many beautiful collaborations are happening from businesses to life projects. The friendships are truly beautiful, more like a family now. I feel at home.
I love to be surrounded by like-minded people who not only share a common interest in personal growth but, more importantly, help me grow on the journey to be the best version of myself.
But how I can find my people, Inuk? Well, these simple steps could help you..
1) Focus on your self first
In order to attract the right people into your life, you need to be that person first. Immerse yourself in your interests, your passions, and what you love. Focus on your personal growth and be the person you want to surround yourself with.
2) Observe and explore
Look around and see where the people who share the same interests as you are. Join the community of like-minded individuals, decide where you want to commit.
3) Show up and be present
Spend time with the community and pursue your interests. Show up and connect with others. Let friendships develop naturally. You’ll find your people when you stay true to yourself.

So, share with me, have you found “your people”?
I have grown so much with the community, and my wish for you is that you are surrounded by people who support your journey. Those who love you unconditionally, uplift you, and support your growth.
We don’t heal in isolation, but in community.”
