One of the questions I hear most often from my clients is: “What if it’s too late to start something new?, I’m too old for this”, or “How do I even start?”. They worry they’ve missed their one opportunity or that life has passed them by.
I always challenge their thinking. What if it’s NOT too late? How can you be sure there aren’t other opportunities waiting for you? Why do you think it’s too late?
The biggest myth we believe is that life is supposed to be linear. Well, It’s not. We can change course, explore new passions, and rewrite our stories at any point.
I believe there’s no such thing as too late to reinvent ourselves. As we grow, our purposes and goals can evolve with us. Sometimes we change direction, and that’s perfectly okay…
Did you know that,
- Morgan Freeman landed his first major movie role at age 52 (this fact still amaze me!)
- Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC, began franchising his fried chicken recipe at age 65.
- Susi Pudjiastuti entered politics and became Fisheries Minister of Indonesia at age 51.
- Nelson Mandela became the first black president of South Africa at age 75.
- Vera Wang designed her first dress at age 40 (she was a figure skater!).
- Miyoko Matsuzaki, a Japanese woman mountain climber, summited Mount Everest at age 73.

As I’m reflecting on my own journey…
- I started learning piano at 31 (I still remember having to que with many small kids for exam lol)
- I started swing-dancing at 32 (and I love it so much until today!)
- I wrote my first book at 34 (I’m proud of it)
- I changed my career entirely and started my entrepreneurship journey at 35 (I’d never thought of it before!)
It took lots of courage as the journey has never been easy, but I’ve never been happier in my life. And I’m so grateful for all the choices I made for myself. 🙏🏽
So let me ask you, if just for this moment you can be unapologetically you and there’s no holding back,
Who do you want to be? what would you do?
Feel free to share your answer in the comment below.
