I don’t have social media apps on my phone. No Instagram, no Facebook, no LinkedIn.
Whenever I tell people this, many are surprised. Like, “How do you get information or updates from friends? Or how are you supposed to do your work?”
Well… I don’t. (Or at least, not from scrolling my phone!)
Instead, I find the JOMO – joy of missing out. And I actually love getting updates directly from my friends—through a message, a call, or over a cup of coffee.
It’s been 3 years since I deleted those apps from my phone.
I’m not anti-social media, though! I still access it from my laptop and sometimes post from there too!
I just want to be more mindful with my time. I really don’t like that guilt feeling after doomscrolling, or getting trapped in comparison once in a while.
Information is one thing, but now I can just ask AI to feed me with the information I need, rather than having information come to me uncontrollably.
Well, however, sometimes… when I’m on holiday, I can be a bit more relaxed. I might install an app for a couple of days, and then uninstall it again right after.
Honestly, my life feels more peaceful. I can focus more on building my life intentionally. 🙏🏽
I’m not saying you should do this. You know what’s best for you! I feel having a break from social media is good once in a while.
Or like me… a really long break. Lol. 😄

How about you? How is your relationship with your screen feeling these days?
My wish for you this week is that you allow yourself to miss out a little bit so you can tune back into your own life.
You are meant to thrive.
And if you ever need my support, I’m here for you.
I’ve got your back. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Inuk
