A couple of weeks ago, I decluttered my closet. I sorted out my clothes, bags, and shoes that I used to cherish but were not really serving me anymore. Some I gave away, and I sold a few of them to a second-hand shop. It seemed easy, but it wasn’t. There were some items that I held on to for a very long time, even though I didn’t use them anymore due to sentimental reasons.
Anyway..
Right after I dropped the last items, I noticed myself feeling light, easy.. almost spacey.
Oh wow, I didn’t realize how much they have taken my mental space. It’s surprising! I thought I’m good in understanding my self, but I didn’t..
So, what is mental space?
What I’m referring to the mental space here is the capacity or state of the mind, referring to how cluttered or quiet it is.
You know that feeling when you have so many things going on in your head to the point it feels heavy and even not productive? Yes, that..
I realized that we have some limits in our mental space, and honestly, in the world with overloaded information and distraction, it’s getting even harder to feel quiet, relaxed and easy.

So what can we do to create more space in our minds? Here are a few things I can suggest to you based on my personal experience:
1) Declutter
You’d be surprised to know how much our physical space affects our mental space. So yes, just like what I did, create more space in your life, quite literally. Remove items in your closet, or even in your home, that don’t serve you anymore.
2) Organize tasks
However your work style, make sure to organize your tasks. For me personally, I like to jot them down in my notebook. I feel much clearer when I do it with pen and paper, rather than using digital notes.
3) Reduce scrolling
I uninstalled Instagram and YouTube from my phone (well, most of the time! lol). I can still access them, only through my laptop, so it won’t take up too much time. However your strategy, make sure you reduce your scrolling time on social media.
4) Morning meditation
Morning meditation can definitely support you to quiet your mind before starting your day. It doesn’t have to take long, even 1 minute in silence or with relaxing music can make so much difference! to your day. Pro tip: you can download my free meditation tracks here.
5) (Gratitude) Journaling
I love journaling by the end of the day. It helps me so much to process what happened during the day. My favorite? Writing down things that I feel grateful for in that day!
6) Nature walk
Take some time in the nature can help a lot reduce mental stress. I feel much clearer when I’m in nature.
And oh, I guess the good news is, you don’t have to do them all!
Feel free to choose what’s easy for you, and start from there. It might change from time to time depending on what’s present you. And that’s okay. 🙂
So, how do you think you can create more mental space within you?
My wish for you is that you can create more space in your life so that you can allow more good things to come. 🙏🏽

Have a productive and clear week! ✨
With love,
Tri
