I was thinking about some fragments of my life in the past, and oh, I’m so embarrassed… I really do. 😳
There are many things in my life that I’m not proud of, here are a few of them:
- In college, I cried in the dean’s office because I wasn’t happy with my final exam score
- When I built and managed a big team for the first time, I screwed up because of my unprofessional behavior. I became a public enemy in my own team, and I got depressed for months because of this
- I let myself be bullied in a toxic relationship few years ago because I was too afraid to be alone
- I wrote many personal stories in my book that sometimes I wish I didn’t write because it’s too personal and I see myself as a completely different person now
- I “chased” a guy abroad amid pandemic, only to get rejected and got my heart broken into pieces
- And really, there are so many more..
Just by mentioning some of them, really, I’m so so embarrassed. There are many mistakes and stupid things I did in the past that I hope I will never do again in the future.
However…
When I think about it, I’m kind of proud of myself. I made it through safe and sound!
I don’t regret any of them.
All those experiences, my mistakes and flaws, are the ones who made me who I am today. I forgive myself for who I was.
It is a sign of growth. 🌱
Embarrassment is a sign of growth.
I guess, feeling embarrassed of our past is not so bad after all..
