A Simple Guide to New Year Intention

As we stepped in to the year 2025, I’ve been thinking about how can I make a simple yet meaningful vision for the year ahead (and yes, it’s not too late!)

If you’re looking for a less overwhelming approach to setting intentions for the new year, these simple steps might help.

Take a moment to list down all the things that you are proud of last year. Ask yourself,

“What are the things that I feel most grateful for last year? What are my most accomplishment?

Big or small, it doesn’t really matter. Maybe you left that job or relationship that didn’t serve you, maybe you took that long overdue trip, or you simply started a morning walk routine. What matters is you celebrate every meaningful progress that you have accomplished.

Only when we can learn from our experiences we can really make a difference.  So, ask yourself again:

“What can  I learn from my mistakes or challenges this year? How can I improve?”

Remember to be kind and compassionate to yourself. We are human beings, we make mistakes sometimes and we can always grow from it.

Here’s the fun part. If you could pick just ONE word that can sum it all for next year what would it be? Having this one umbrella world could really help you to focus your energy without overcomplicating things.

I talked with a client last week, she said her one word is Abundance. What a powerful world, abundance can be many things, abundance in wealth, career, love, or else. That is just great!

Here are some more ideas: Love, Peace, Health, Focus, Freedom, Connection, Balance, Courage, Thrive,  or any word you can think of really, as long it inspires you! And if you love details, you definitely can add more details to it (e.g. break it down to 10 tangible goals).

Pro tip: Set a reminder for your intention, you might want to update your phone or desktop wallpaper or even create a vision board for it. Fun!
