My October Commitment

This month is my birthday month (well, it’s actually on the 15th! 🎉). To be perfectly honest with you, this year has been really challenging. I’ve found myself navigating so many life challenges, both professionally and personally. From my dad sickness, my skin health situation to my finance.

I finally had to acknowledge that, yes, it’s been hard. If you pay attention a bit closer, you might have seen that I’ve been writing a lot lately about navigating challenges.

At the beginning of the month, I thought about what I wanted to commit to myself this month. My goal wasn’t to add more pressure, but to remind myself that I can stay grounded and that this time is truly about taking care of myself during this uncertain season.

Today, I want to share 5 things that I commit to myself this month:

1) Move my body every day, as much as rest and relax 🤸‍♀️

I realized that during this time, I need an even healthier body.  My body needs both movement and rest equally. As much as possible, I make time to go for a morning jog, dancing, or a bit of strength training at home. And even with all those sleepless nights in the hospital, I commit to sleeping even more when I’m home.

2) Connect to my inner guidance ✨

I’m trying my best to connect with my inner guidance and wisdom every day through prayer, meditation, or journaling.

Journaling, in particular, has been amazing these days! I feel like this is really my medium (maybe because I’m a writer). I’ve been able to access my guidance and trust it completely.  Some questions I ask, “How am I doing today?”, “What messages would support me today?”. And the answer has been so uplifting (hmm..this could be another topic for another day on how to access our own internal guidance or wisdom through journaling).

3) Eat more consciously (focus: cut down refined sugar and wheat flour) 🥗

I’ve got to be honest. With all things happening, I started slipping away from my healthy eating habits (especially during all those days in the hospital). This month, I want to start small: just focus on cutting down refined sugar and wheat flour. That’s it.

4) Listen & honor my emotions ❤️

During this challenging time, I realized that I need to listen more to not just my body, but also my feelings and emotions.

For example, I didn’t realize how much I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed these past couple of months.  Just recently, I finally decided to get professional support. I started seeing a psychologist, and it’s been amazing! I’m finally able to give space to my feelings and move forward.  Even a coach needs support.

5) Be courageous 🦁

As I step into a new year of life, I know this chapter is really focused on building strength from the inside out. My hope is that reading my commitment inspires you to create one of your own—one that supports you exactly where you are right now.

I’m wondering, which of these five commitments resonates most with what you need to prioritize this month?

You are meant to thrive.

And if you ever need any support, I’m here for you. Always.  ❤️

I’ve got your back.

With love and gratitude,
Inuk
